March 29th/07 Flirt looking about same as yesterday. Some wax on her bag through out the day. Mercedes & RoyaLee are spending first night out side. Our temps are around 0 to +2 so I feel RoyaLee will be fine. Ruby & Cassie's bags really filling now. Vicki's is also filling. So another night of foal watch for me.

March 30th/07:
More wax on Flirts bag and also noticed their is some dry milk on belly so am guessing at times she is spraying milk which is hitting her belly. Also very active out side today with bum rubbing & tail flicking.

March 31, 07: No longer has wax, now she has milk drops on ends. Think she will start dripping or spraying soon. Flirt is at 342 days. I hope she has it soon so I can get some before I need to start watching Cassie & Ruby. They are at about 324 days. Vicki is at about 315 days. You will notice that I list all of my mares due dates around 345 days. But I do start watching them sooner. Past history I have found mares go around or past 345 days. I have not owned many mares that have foaled before the 345 day mark. Past foaling history for other mares:Ruby is under lease. I am told she never really bagged up or any thing when she had her first foal. This yr she has been slowly bagging up. Right now I would say she is around 75% full. She was bred May 15,16/2006. Cassie has had one foal to date & it was with us. She was pasture bred last time bred for few months so did not know her true due date. She did bag up huge couple weeks before foaling then go down then back up. Once she was 24 hours from foaling she waxed up and candled. 8 hours before foaling she started dripping milk. Her breeding dates are May 10-16/2006. Vicki has always gone over her due date by weeks. She starts bagging up 4-6 weeks before foaling. She will wax up few days before foaling. Then start dripping milk 30 hours before foaling. She will spray milk 6-12 hours before foaling. Her breeding dates are: May 22-28/2006. Reminder that my mares are not barned during day. I will stall them between 7pm & they will go out at feeding time in the morning. Only time they maybe stalled in side during day is if weather is real bad.

April 1/07: Dripping milk all day & walking around lots. Also kicking back legs and flicking tail. We are hoping she foals before midnight. If so foal will be named Mystery Foolish Flirt.

Wow - it's time, and she has company to help as needed. Wonderful!
Looks like maybe it's out, watching for little ears to perk up and look towards mama..... Yes!
Congratulations -- and thank you for letting us watch!!!! It's a privilege.

Oh my goodness, the pictures are even prettier than I imagined! And she's a filly too - just what you ordered!!! Not being a horse person, I'm not sure which terms are right. Is "loud" okay for a paint, or is that an appy term? I'm not sure what terms go with which breeds, but I'd call that little lady loud with a lot of chrome. She's absolutely beautiful! Congratulations again, and thanks so much for letting us watch.

April 2/07:
Well both Flirt & filly are doing well. They will be in stall for a bit today as we got 2 inches of snow over night. Glad I barned Mercedes & RoyaLee over night.
Well we are hoping we can get 10 nights of good night sleep before we start having to watch Cassie & Ruby.
Again thanks for watching.

April 3/07: Ruby is now in foaling stall. She is at 327 days. About 90-95% bagged up. It is warm and full. Something I never do I did, which is milk a drop out of it to check colour. It is clear.
Ruby is due to foal a Pintabian foal sired by CR Royale Coppersin.
Cam on right now for a short time. 7pm-11pm mountain time. Once I feel she needs watching all night long cam will be up from 7pm-until morning. My mares are not barned during the day unless, weather is bad & I feel they might foal out side in it.

April 5th/07:
Ok well Ruby has either gone nuts today or in labor. I was out side in mares pasture when Ruby started flicking her tail real hard and running around. Is doing this every 5 minutes.
Since barning her the running around is no more, but she is flicking tail hard lots. Never had a mare act like this before.

My mare is right at 335 today,April 6th. Has your white mare foaled? The pictures of her helped me alot because so many of the other pictures the mare is bay or sorrel. Tru is a cremello and it is hard for me to see her progress. My mare looks nothing like them! Please post her progress or picks of new baby! thanks~
